With introduction sampled from Founder and lead pastor of 2819 CHURCH (Atlanta, GA) Philip Anthony Mitchell, the song sparked the viral “Jesus is Alive” Open Verse Challenge, with artists and fans creating and sharing their own verses of the song.
Participants include New Kid on the Block’s Donnie Wahlberg, as well as Christian artists Kijan Boone and Aaron Cole. The trend has inspired a “global creative expression of worship centered on one message: Jesus is alive” (JubileeCast).
“Jesus is Alive” is Frank’s second viral success within one week, with his release of “OKAY!”, already surpassing 120K creates online and 1M global streams after being dropped as a surprise on Sunday, May 3.
