Today (11.19), Emmy Award-winning singer-songwriter Foy Vance shares his latest single, “I Think I Preferred The Question,” via Rounder Records.
On this track, the Northern-Ireland-born and Scotland-based singer/songwriter surrenders to the beauty of the unknown, letting his frustration rise against those who impose their beliefs on others. Produced by Brit Award-winning producer Ethan Johns (Paul McCartney, Ray LaMontagne), the song captures Vance’s trademark mix of honesty and insight in an intimate reflection on what it means to be human.

“I Think I Preferred The Question” follows Vance’s Rounder Records debut – his double single release of “A.I.” and “Call Me Anytime.” The striking tracks serve as an ultimate juxtaposition and display the depths of Vance’s artistry: A.I.” is a sprawling, 9-minute outcry on AI’s unchecked ascent, while “Call Me Anytime” is a heartfelt meditation on the layers and multitudes of fatherhood. Listen to both here.
Additionally, Vance shared the official video for “A.I.” Entirely created by Vance (a filmmaker and artist), the video brings his thoughts on AI to life -- the chaos, the unknown, and even the humor he finds. Watch it here.
