Catapult.org, the groundbreaking crowdfunding platform called "women's empowerment at its best" by Huffington Post released new reports detailing the successes, risks and challenges of projects since their funding. "Flat bellies and planned pregnancies" brought reproductive education and clinical services to the women of a small coastal community of Aplaya, and provided free contraception to 143 women. "Gardening for health," meanwhile, provided innovative vertical gardens that helped more than 50 families living in flood-prone areas grow fresh and nutritious produce.

Catapult distinguishes itself from other crowdfunding platforms by connecting people directly to on-the-ground organizations dedicated to advancing the lives of girls and women around the globe, and by demanding complete transparency: "100% of their online donation goes directly to the projects," says founder Maz Kessler. "They can then track progress [though detailed budget breakdowns and reports] and stay involved in the results. This approach - participating in the solution - is key to a young and rising global citizenship movement."

Since Catapult's October 2012 launch, they have turned more than 4 million in donations into measurable change for hundreds of projects in over 80 countries around the world, for issues from supporting female education to ending domestic violence. Through an innovative partnership, Gucci's CHIME FOR CHANGE organization brings musicians and celebrities to curate projects on Catapult, encouraging online donors to join them in crowdfunding causes about which they feel passionately. Curators include Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Salma Hayek Pinault, Frida Giannini, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sarah Brown and Madonna.
