Grace Potter Announces Grand Point Foundation

Foundation To Support Local Arts & Culture In Vermont

Tuesday, June 4 (Burlington, VT) - Today, 2X Grammy nominee and Vermont native, Grace Potter, announced the Grand Point Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the arts in Vermont. Grand Point Foundation seeks to inspire a culturevation for all Vermonters, connecting their communities in celebration of art and culture.

Potter, who has been hailed as “one of the greatest living voices in rock today” by SPIN, will again host Grand Point North, a music and culture festival held in Burlington. This year’s festival will take place at the Waterfront Park on July 25-28 and will feature headlining sets from Potter herself, The Flaming Lips and The Head and The Heart, as well as sets from Michael Marcagi, and Anderson East. You can buy tickets HERE.

“Finding a place for artistic expression as a kid set me on the path for where I am today and I’ve been dreaming about how to support my beloved Vermonters for a while now. I witnessed how we showed up for each other as neighbors time and time again, throughout the pandemic and last year with the catastrophic flooding. I want to create that same activation and response for our artists.” Potter shares. “Art is an integral part of our community infrastructure and growing our arts community was a natural fit for me. The Grand Point Foundation will be dedicated to supporting existing arts and culture programs, along with building our own programmatic outreach.”

Grand Point North has a storied history in art curation and cultivation for the local Vermont community. Potter’s desire to expand on that community effort is the root of Grand Point Foundation. The foundation will support existing nonprofit and community organizations that are focused on arts education and cultural programming. In addition, GPF will award one creation stipend to a Vermont artist each year to support their vision in ‘keeping Vermont weird.’ International artist programs and workshops and an annual film festival in Burlington will follow.

Potter has always been committed to supporting the local Vermont community in every way. Last summer, she hosted a livestream to raise funds to uplift people after the floods. The fundraiser raised over $20,000 for The Vermont Community Foundation’s VT Flood Response and Recovery Fund.
