"Wry, reflective, disarming and ultimately exhilarating, it’s one of the best

rock documentaries I’ve ever seen." - Wall Street Journal

[June 27, 2025] Today, blur: To The End makes its highly anticipated U.S. debut, opening in select theaters and launching across major streaming platforms. Directed by Toby L., this raw and electrifying documentary goes beyond the music to tell the story of four friends and bandmates of almost three decades — Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree — as they come together to record The Ballad of Darren, their first album in nearly a decade, and take on the biggest shows of their career: two sold-out, history-making nights at London’s Wembley Stadium.

The feature-length documentary pulls back the curtain on one of Britain’s most influential bands, offering an intimate portrait filled with heart, humor, and humanity. blur: To The End depicts the most recent chapter in the band’s story, captured during the period in which they made a surprise – and emotional - return with their first record in 8 years, the critically acclaimed #1 album The Ballad of Darren.

As director Toby L. explains, “It’s an intimate glimpse into relationships, motivation, and mortality… a real unfurling of a moment in time, with deeper reflections along the way.”

Featuring performances of their most iconic, much-loved songs; footage of the band in the studio and life on the road; plus never-before-seen archive footage, blur: To The End follows a memorable year for this most enduring of English bands, who have been at the heart of British cultural life and influence for over three decades.

Since announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, blur went on to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with seven successive UK #1 albums Parklife (1994), The Great Escape (1995), Blur (1997), 13 (1999), Think Tank (2003), The Magic Whip (2015) and The Ballad of Darren (2023) and a string of Top 10 singles, including two #1s with Country House and Beetlebum, as well as the global smash hit Song 2, helping to propel the band to mass popularity at home and abroad. With over 40 major awards to their name — including five Brit Awards, ten NME Awards, and two Mercury Prize nominations — blur’s cultural influence is undeniable and their music continues to inspire generations.
