Today, Greenwich Entertainment shares details of upcoming LA & NYC premiere events ahead of the August 25 theatrical release of The Elephant 6 Recording Co. — full details below. The Elephant 6 Recording Co. explores the unique inside story and creative evolution of the influential indie music collective that birthed formative groups including Neutral Milk Hotel, The Olivia Tremor Control, The Apples in Stereo, Elf Power, Of Montreal, and so many others.

This Friday on August 11, Sid The Cat will present The Elephant 6 Recording Co. LA Film Premiere + Tribute Concert at The Barnsdall Gallery Theatre. The tribute concert will feature an array of guests vocalists will perform favorites from the Elephant 6 catalog backed by a band featuring Mikal Cronin, Imaad Wasif (touring member of Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and two members of Meatbodies (In The Red Records), as well as Elephant 6 alums Rebecca Cole (the Minders, Wild Flag, Pavement) and Heather McIntosh (Elf Power, the Instruments, Circulatory System). Confirmed guest vocalists include Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney), Kate Bollinger, Diners, Ben Lee, Amber Coffman (ex Dirty Projectors), and Honus Honus (Man Man & Mister Heavenly) with more surprise guests in store.

On August 25 and 26, the New York theatrical premiere of The Elephant 6 Recording Co. will be held at IFC Center. These events will be proceeded by Q&As with Robert Schneider of Apples In Stereo and the filmmaking team moderated by noted Elephant 6 fans David Cross and Busy Philipps.

Other upcoming film events include an August 24 screening at Motorco in Durham, NC featuring a Q&A with Scott Spillane of Neutral Milk Hotel and a September 2 screening at The Roxie in San Francisco, CA featuring a performance and Q&A with Tammy Ealom of Elephant 6’s Dressy Bessy.

Stockfleth and produced by Lance Bangs whose credits include videos for Nirvana, Odd Future, Neutral Milk Hotel and many others, plus films and documentaries for Jackass, Pavement and more.
