Heavy Duty Wins Most Effective Use Of Music At 2024 AMP Awards, Buddy Ross’ Fred Again.. & Brian Eno Collaboration Nominated For Best Contemporary Song At This Week’s Ivor Novello Awards

Heavy Duty is overjoyed to have just won Most Effective Use of Music in a Campaign during this year’s AMP Awards for Music & Sound, honoring their work on Etsy’s “Your Mission,” in collaboration with the Orchard. For the series of spots, Heavy Duty’s Zach Pollakoff (Executive Creative Producer) and Sean Fitzgerald (Lead Composer) reinvented the iconic Mission Impossible theme song to tackle the task of gift-giving, and handled everything from arranging to vocal recording, casting, final mix and sound design. “The musical approach here is just insanely good,” says Ad Age. “Communicating the challenge of gift-giving, without spelling it out, in a way that’s clever, fun and builds actual drama, which resolves at the end of each spot in a perfect crescendo of success.”

The AMP Award followed an ASCAP Screen Award for Heavy Duty Co-Founder & CCO Ariel Rechtshaid, an ASCAP Songwriter of The Year achievement for Heavy Duty Creative Director Daniel Nigro, and an ASCAP Pop Music Award for publishing client Jeremiah Raisen (aka Sadpony). But the company has yet another reason to celebrate further this week, with client, producer and songwriter Buddy Ross up for Best Contemporary Song (Fred again.. & Brian Eno’s “Enough”) at the prestigious Ivor Novello Awards.

Beyond the awards circuit, the team behind Heavy Duty has recently appeared on Saturday Night Live with Vampire Weekend, the latest single from Chappell Roan, and on screens, stages and streaming platforms all around the world. The bespoke music shop even turned their viral soundtrack for a 30-second Lincoln ad into a surprise song of the summer, while contributing to new campaigns from Coca-Cola, Expedia, Hotels.com, Lincoln, Total by Verizon and Tropicana, and recent records from Dominic Fike, Kid Cudi, Kim Gordon, Lorde and dozens of others available in the playlist HERE.

Between the original compositions, artist collaborations, music supervision, covers, remixes, final mix and sound design executed by Heavy Duty Projects, and the career-making publishing work of Heavy Duty Music, “world-building and creating a sonic universe before and behind a moving image is what Heavy Duty does best” (Variety). Co-founded by GRAMMY-winner Ariel Rechtshaid, with a roster of producers and songwriters who have collaborated with Charli XCX, Drake, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo and countless more, the company is uniquely equipped to create commercial and custom music that is both cutting-edge and culturally-relevant.
