Hello, I’m Britti: New Orleans Artist Shines On Debut Album Out Today Via Easy Eye Sound

Hello, I’m Britti: New Orleans Artist Shines On Debut Album Out Today Via Easy Eye Sound

Named Among Rolling Stone’s “Pop Stars To Watch In 2024” + SPIN’s “Top Artists To Watch in 2024”

Watch Britti’s National Television Debut On CBS Saturday Morning

Today, Britti — the new Easy Eye Sound voice carrying on the rich musical traditions of her New Orleans community — releases her Dan Auerbach-produced debut LP, Hello, I’m Britti. Just named one of Rolling Stone's "Pop Stars To Watch In 2024" — who liken her to a "hypnotic and dreamy" Kacey Musgraves — and among SPIN’s "Top Artists To Watch in 2024" — who praise the LP as “a bracing mix of New Orleans R&B and new Nashville spark which is as charmingly personal and candidly confident as the title” — Hello, I’m Britti. follows the rising songwriter’s national TV debut on CBS Saturday, plus features on a number of Spotify's coveted playlists, including Fresh Finds, Lorem, Fresh Folk, and more.

Today’s focus track, “Save Me,” features sumptuous horns paying homage to her New Orleans home and a stirring melody that will make you want to get up and shake loose — a dance-worthy track arriving just in time for the Mardis Gras celebrations right around the corner.

With deep roots in her home of New Orleans, Britti soaked in musical knowledge during her Louisiana upbringing from relatives who would gig with heroes like Dr. John and Allen Toussaint. After years of deferring her own musical dreams, Britti’s experiences with a life-altering breakup, a pandemic furlough, and a chance discovery by Dan Auerbach himself now find her carrying on the traditions of her community, with a mission to help heal its generational traumas. As Britti explains it: “I once heard the experience described as ‘I am the matriarch of healing for my lineage’ and that resonated deeply with me.”

“This is my love letter to the world, allowing people to see me so they can feel seen,” says Britti of her debut LP. I hope to redefine the perception of vulnerability and sensitivity."

Alongside a remarkable group of first-call players — including Nick Movshon (Amy Winehouse, Wu Tang Clan) and Jay Bellerose (Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Sharon Van Etten) — Hello, I’m Britti. presents the many sides of a singular voice. Shimmering country-pop tangles with bright trills (“Keep Running”); dulcet tones nestle between vintage soul (“So Tired”); breathy purrs ride atop the hazy reverie of 90’s R&B (“Nothing Compares To You”); and hypnotic, swaying charms tuck neatly between tight guitar lines and mesmerizing synths (“Lullaby”).

Defined less by genre and more so by her effervescent spirit, Hello, I’m Britti. is a dynamic introduction to an artist you won’t soon forget.

“Hypnotic, sultry, spare, and perfectly punctuated by the horn section.” —KCRW

“"An elegant blend of country and R&B, held together by Britti's ethereal vocals.”
