(New York, NY - Feb. 19, 2015) Hill Country Live - the home of roots, Americana, and alt-country in New York City and Washington DC - has announced the arrival of Texas music scene veteran John O'Neill of the famed Austin nightclub Antone's. Announced today by Marc Glosserman, founder and CEO of Hill Country Hospitality - along with Hill Country Live's new Spring 2015 music series - this "Texpat" appointment furthers Hill Country Live's mission to celebrate the music, food, and culture of the Lone Star state.
In his new role, John O'Neill will work as Talent Buyer for all HCLive venues, stationed in Washington, DC. With more than 20 years in the entertainment industry as a booker, journalist, manager, and radio DJ, O'Neill most recently worked as the talent buyer and promoter for Antone's Nightclub in Austin, which has hosted legends, ranging from Muddy Waters to Stevie Ray Vaughan, and helped develop the careers of a new generation of Texas icons including Gary Clark Jr. and Ian Moore. John's other Texas roots extend to working in artist management with the likes of Bob Schneider and Texas singer-songwriter Hayes Carll.
Glosserman also announced the promotion of Seth Rothschild, who is now Director of Hill Country Live. Rothschild has been at Hill Country Hospitality since day one, starting as the first sound engineer/club manager for the Midtown location, and will continue to lead the live music initiatives for all the venues.
"I'm immensely proud to grow the Hill Country team with the addition of John and the promotion of Seth Rothschild," says Marc Glosserman, whose roots in the Texas Hill Country date back four generations. "Our goal has always been to further deepen New York, Brooklyn and DC's thriving roots music scenes, and we look forward to continuing to build that tradition into 2015."
