International Trumpet Superstar Ibrahim Maalouf Announces Biggest-Ever North American Tour For September

On The Heels Of Queen Of Sheba Release With 5-time GRAMMY-Winner Angelique Kidjo + Solo Album Like He’s Never Made Before Out Th

Ibrahim Maalouf — Lebanese-born, French-raised international trumpet superstar — just announced a run of headlining shows this fall, his biggest North American tour to date. From Los Angeles’ El Rey Theater to NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge, Ibrahim will bring his explosive, cross-cultural swirl of rap, jazz, pop, electronic, Middle Eastern, and African influences to audiences across the continent, full dates below.

Hailed as a “virtuoso” by The New York Times, Ibrahim has performed in over 40 countries in the last ten years and become the first trumpeter in history to sell out France’s largest arena.  He made his U.S. television debut last fall, performing alongside Jon Batiste on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, proving time and time again that his globally inspired music is also a global sensation.

Today’s announcement follows the release of Ibrahim’s acclaimed Queen Of Sheba,  a collaborative, seven-movement symphonic suite with lyrics sung in the Yoruba language of West Africa created alongside five-time GRAMMY-winner Angelique Kidjo. Queen Of Sheba has been performed live by Maalouf and Kidjo on some of the most prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Marciac Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Fest, and more. Glide Magazine deems it as “undoubtedly one of the most important world recordings of the year" while WNYC celebrates the project as “ambitious and expressive.”

Today’s touring announcement and recent Queen Of Sheba release are mere hints at the tremendous year in store for Maalouf: a solo album like he’s never made before coming this fall as Ibrahim teams up with a host of hip-hop and R&B artists for a sonically bold and innovative collection. Ibrahim recently teased the project with “El Mundo” (ft. Flavia Coelho and Tony Romera) — stay tuned for a more formal announcement coming soon.
