iCitizen Launches New Mobile App To Help Citizens Navigate Political Issues, Track Government Officials and Make Certain Their Voices Are Heard

 
iCitizen launched today in the App Store with a free iPhone app that will help make civic engagement a lot easier. Called “nothing short of extraordinary” by Politico, the app allows users to do three things: 1) track issues 2) learn about their lawmakers and 3) voice their opinions.

Know Your Issues: iCitizen allows users to hand-pick issues that they care about and track legislation related to those issues. From gun rights and gay rights to border control and birth control, the app is fully customizable and will keep users up to date on today's most pressing issues by providing related, unbiased content and other political news in real time. 

Know Your Reps: iCitizen helps users keep up with their federal and state representatives. You can follow specific reps, find out which committees they are on, who their major campaign contributors are, what bills they have sponsored and track their voting record. The app also makes it painless to publicly rate your representatives and contact them directly.

Make Your Voice Count: iCitizen polls users on issues that are of personal interest and are relevant to today’s current topics. With one click, users can voice their opinion and the results are delivered to their elected officials, allowing the representatives to make better informed decisions on how their constituents want them to vote.

Nashville-based iCitizen is led by CEO Rod Massey. With a background at the intersection of IT and the public sector, Massey previously held leadership positions at business-management software giant SAP, serving as Vice President and Global Vice President of its Public Sector Industry Business Unit and its Education and Research Industry Business Unit.
