iCitizen named Top Innovator
Award from youngStartup Ventures recognizes cutting-edge private companies driving the future of innovation.
The civic engagement app company iCitizen was selected to present as one of the Top Innovators at the annual New England Venture Summit by youngStartup Ventures. The list of privately held companies recognizes those that play a leading role in innovation for the technology, life sciences/health care, clean-tech and ed-tech sectors.
As CEO of one of the top innovators, Rod Massey presented the iCitizen app at the exclusive 2013 New England Venture Summit Dec. 11. A select group of over 500 entrepreneurs, investors, and corporate developers gathered at the Hilton Boston Dedham to be the first to meet this next wave of leading-edge companies.
“iCitizen is excited and honored to have been selected and included among this very elite group of youngStartup Ventures top finalists,” Massey said. “With iCitizen we are harnessing cutting-edge technology to give citizens a voice in their government – not just at election time, but also every day between elections.”
To honor its Top Innovator recipients, youngStartup Ventures invites their CEOs and founders to present at the New England Venture Summit, a forum for the most exciting early stage and emerging growth companies, and to share their insights on the future of innovation and the entrepreneurial journey. This intimate, invitation-only conference is the premier venue for today's promising startups.
iCitizen allows users to efficiently follow and speak out about issues that mean the most to them – all from their mobile phones. People can learn about their elected representatives, get the latest news on the issues they care about, and make their voices count by voting in polls – results of which will be given to federal and state representatives.
