"Incomparable" Crown And The M.O.B. Ascend On 'All Rise'

Release Debut LP On Cinco De Mayo

SoCal alt. hip-hop band Crown and the M.O.B. (Message of the Blues) will debut their first full-length LP 'All Rise' (Caroline/Capitol) on Cinco de Mayo. The album displays the band's multifaceted style born from Brooklyn-bred Crown's sharp MCing and the all-star band whose members have played with everyone from Dr. Dre to Justin Timberlake.

The "incomparable" (Last.FM) Crown and the M.O.B take their undeniable musicality to new heights, strumming, singing, rapping and everything in between across 10 powerful tracks full of NYC wit and Cali cool. After growing up in the projects in Brooklyn and serving in the Air Force, Crown has a unique perspective that inspires his intelligent, uplifting lyrical content and bold delivery. The eclectic group has backgrounds spanning across several genres which all come together on 'All Rise' to deliver a blend of authentic sounds and earworm hooks.

Crown and The M.O.B.'s high-energy hip-hop infused sound make them "a bright surprise bursting with soulful energy and charisma to spare" (USA Today). Songs like the anthemic "All Hail Now" and "Love My People" utilize fast paced drum rhythms and triumphant horns that display the collective's big band capabilities, while introspective cuts "Come My Way" and "High For You" call on gentle guitars and alternative elements that are enhanced by Crown's powerful delivery.

Their "string driven indie pop" (Entertainment Weekly) single "Roam" brings the SoCal sun through the speakers with bright guitars and xylophones backing Crown's strong verses. Yahoo! Music premiered the video for the track, calling it "a new feel-good hip-hop anthem" here.

Based in Venice, CA, Crown and The M.O.B. is a 10-piece band that features elite session musicians Colin Wolfe (bass - Madonna, Dr. Dre, TLC), Danny Dunlap (guitar - Jennifer Hudson, Sting, Kelly Clarkson) and Phillip Fisher (drums - Justin Timberlake). The band's masterful balance of alternative hip-hop and pop, blending strong, relatable rhymes with live instrumentation, is reminiscent of The Roots.
