Jack Gray Releases Sleek New Single “Friends Like These” via Elektra Records

Recently Wrapped US Tour Dates w/ Maisie Peters and Dean Lewis

(New York, NY): LA-based Australian singer, songwriter, and producer Jack Gray has today shared his sleek new single "Friends Like These," as his US debut for Elektra Records. "Friends Like These" is the first piece of new music since the release of his debut EP ‘Nights Like This’ earlier in the year.

The 21-year old "unassuming pop star's" (Alt Citizen) latest is a mature reflection on fake friendships disguised as a candy-colored synthpop dream. “With friends like these / who needs enemies” croons Gray over the beat, repeating an age-old adage as relevant now as it’s ever been.

“Friends Like These” comes on the heels of Jack’s U.S. tour supporting Elektra labelmate and U.K. indie-pop darling Maisie Peters. Earlier this year, Jack completed his first-ever run of North American dates opening for fellow Aussie Dean Lewis, as well as toured with the likes of Mahalia, E^ST and Ella Vos. Jack recently returned home to Australia for a sold-out headline multi-date tour in support of his EP.

With new music coming down the pipeline, Jack Gray shows no sign of slowing down. With 6.5 million streams to his name and calling to mind contemporaries from Jack Garratt and James Blake to Frank Ocean and The 1975, Jack's melodic voice floats over a combination of slick guitar work and crunchy electronic production.

Released to rave reviews, Jack’s 5-track debut EP 'Nights Like This' is a collection of songs written and recorded over the past two years that reflect Jack’s remarkable growth as an artist and producer. Featuring songs such as "Fools" and "Down Side Of Up," the EP often juxtaposes conflicting emotions, tackling weighty topics with subtle nuance and thoughtful reflection, while also capturing the beautiful highs and messy lows of the journey into adulthood.
