Jacob Collier Announces 'The Light For Days' Tour
In the last five years, 7x GRAMMY®-winner Jacob Collier has performed all over the world in live configurations for various sizes. Whether it's selling out arenas with his band, improvising with the National Symphony Orchestra, uniting fans in the world's first-ever Audience Symphony Orchestra, or hosting his inaugural Hideaway Retreat last year, the Jacobean stratosphere continues to reach new heights. Yet this September and October will bring something new and different. Today, Jacob announces The Light For Days Tour, bringing a one-off series of 22 solo performances to select intimate spaces across the UK, Europe and North America.
After selling out historic venues across the globe – NYC's Radio City Music Hall, London's O2 Arena, Paris' Zenith, LA's Hollywood Bowl and many others – Jacob will embark on a series of intimate theatre performances, reflecting the deeply raw and rooted approach of his latest album, The Light For Days. Stripped back to his most present and immediate form, he will be accompanied only by a piano, a collection of guitars, his bespoke harmoniser, and the collective voice of his audience choirs. The tour will mark Jacob's Carnegie Hall debut in New York, alongside two-night residencies at LA's The Ford and London's Union Chapel.
General on sale begins at 10am local time on Friday, March 20th, following an artist pre-sale that starts at 10am local time on Tuesday, March 17th. The tour will be using Face Value Exchange for shows on Ticketmaster to keep prices fair and accessible for everyone. Ahead of this intimate The Light For Days Tour, Jacob will also give special performances in several continents this spring and summer, headlining Cape Town's International Jazz Festival, curating music at this year's TED Conference in Vancouver, as well as performing bespoke orchestra shows in Boston, Lithuania, Italy and Spain.
In recent weeks, Jacob Collier celebrated his 16th career GRAMMY® nomination, released his new Something Heavy EP (a three-song exploration of The Light For Dayshighlight "Something Heavy"), performed "Something Heavy" on Later… with Jools Holland with the London Voices, was featured in an extensive cover story with Guitar.com celebrating his new custom 5-string Guitars in collaboration with Taylor Guitars, and revealed his ambassadorship of BBC Get Singing, the biggest UK music education initiative in a decade, aimed at encouraging 11-14 year olds to sing both inside and outside of the classroom.
