|
Jacob Collier's tremendous run continues with three 2021 GRAMMY Award nominations for Djesse Vol. 3, including Album Of The Year. Collier was also nominated for Best R&B Performance: "All I Need" (with Mahalia & Ty Dolla $ign), and Best Arrangement, Instrumentals & Vocals: "He Won't Hold You" (Feat. Rapsody).
The 26-year-old British musician, producer, songwriter and arranger now has a remarkable 7 career GRAMMY Nominations, including 4 GRAMMY Award wins. Earlier this year, Collier earned two GRAMMY Awards for arrangements from his Djesse Vol. 1 and Djesse Vol. 2 albums.
Djesse Vol. 3 is a wild and wizardly collection of Jacob Collier's grooviest and hookiest songs to date. At home in his famous London Music Room, he produced, wrote, mixed, recorded, arranged and performed nearly every element himself, demonstrating the musical dexterity and versatility that have turned him into "a key, fresh voice as a collaborator" (Time).
Djesse Vol. 3 features Daniel Caesar, Jessie Reyez, Kiana Ledé, Kimbra, Mahalia, Rapsody, T-Pain, Tank and The Bangas, Tori Kelly and Ty Dolla $ign. It was met with praise from The New York Times, Time, Entertainment Weekly, Teen Vogue and millions of fans across the world. The project earned Collier his late-night television debuts on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Later… with Jools Holland, while delivering more of this year's most groundbreaking home performances for NPR's Tiny Desk and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He also appeared on PBS/CNN's Amanpour, Vice News Tonight, NPR Weekend Edition, video series for Wired, ELLE, Seventeen, Genius, TED and more.
Djesse Vol. 3 marks the third installment in Jacob Collier's four-album series of shifting sound, style and space. While Vol. 1 was grand and orchestral, Vol. 2 intimate and eclectic, Vol. 3 explores what Jacob describes as negative acoustic distance. Outside of Djesse, Jacob Collier worked with the likes of SZA and Chris Martin throughout 2020. He also announced a world tour of nearly 100 concerts through a revolutionary, risk-free reservation system to confront the uncertainty created by the pandemic.
