Jim Ed Brown Becomes Second Plowboy Records Artist To Be Inducted Into The Country Music Hall Of Fame
Plowboy Records recording artist Jim Ed Brown will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, as announced by the Country Music Association. Jim Ed Brown and the Browns will be inducted into the Veteran's Era category.
Jim Ed released his solo record 'In Style Again' on Plowboy Records earlierthis year, his first album in 35 years. This marks the second artist that Plowboy has worked with that has been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Plowboy launched in 2012 and their debut release was country legend Bobby Bare's first album in 7 years, 'Darker Than Light.' Bare was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
Up next for Plowboy is the release of 'Handle It' on April 14 by Nashville's Blackfoot Gypsies. The quartet drinks from the same deep well as Zeppelin, The Stones & The Faces: delta blues and the foreboding ghosts of country music's past. They blast out raw, classic rock & roll all dolled up infeathers, sequin jackets, vintage bell-bottoms & cowboy boots. And theirwild shows have landed them on stage with the Alabama Shakes, White Fang and more. Listen to "Pork Rind" from the album, premiered at Entertainment Weekly here.
Plowboy was formed by punk legend Cheetah Chrome, professor/music historianDon Cusic and Eddy Arnold's grandson Shannon Pollard. The catalog includes new albums from Chuck Mead, The Ghost Wolves and many more. The labelwas established to promote the legacy of Eddy Arnold and to provide a homefor projects that focus on American music regardless of genre.
