Jocelyn & Chris Release “Skeleton Key” Following Radio Success Of “Sugar And Spice”
This appropriately Halloween release imagines a romance gone horrifically wrong
Today (10.15), indie blues-rockers Jocelyn & Chris release “Skeleton Key,” the second preview of their forthcoming album, Favorite Ghosts. On “Skeleton Key,” Jocelyn & Chris reveal a more aggressive rock sound, showcasing Jocelyn’s powerhouse vocals and Chris’ heavy guitars. Appropriately released in time for Halloween, the track imagines what can happen when romance meets horror.
“This is definitely one of the darker, harder songs on the album,” says Jocelyn. “Sometimes love can be a fantasy, but other times, it can be closer to a classic horror flick. This song is our imagination picturing what that darker side of romance might look and sound like. We had a lot of fun leaning into classic horror tropes – shadows flickering, floorboards creaking, wondering what’s waiting for you around the corner. It’s a good soundtrack for spooky season.”

“Skeleton Key” follows the success of this duo’s recent single “Sugar and Spice,” which entered the Billboard AAA Top 40 on August 16, earning a “Most Added” designation for three consecutive weeks with regular airplay in major markets including LA, Boston, Nashville, Austin, Denver, and Portland. American Songwriter calls the track “pure American rock goodness” -- watch/listen here.
About Jocelyn & Chris:
Siblings Jocelyn & Chris fell in love with classic rock at an early age. They got their start performing covers of Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" at talent shows in their hometown in rural Upstate NY. They went on to attend Harvard while touring nationally, charting three consecutive commercial radio singles in the Billboard AAA Top 40 and two #1 records on the Relix Jambands Top 30 Album Chart. The duo has drawn comparisons to rock’s greatest icons, with a “sound that recalls classics like Stevie Nicks, Janis Joplin, and Jimmy Page” (mxdwn). They have performed live on NBC’s Today Show and released seven records featuring special guests including Cory Wong (Vulfpeck), G. Love, Byron Isaacs (Lumineers), and Gov’t Mule’s Danny Louis. Their eighth studio album ‘Favorite Ghosts’ is slated for release in early 2022, and the rockers are currently on the road on their “Sugar and Spice” Tour.
