Jocelyn & Chris Showcase Softer Side Of “Sugar And Spice” With New Live Reimagining

Sibling rockers premiere intimate semi-acoustic version of “Sugar and Spice” recorded live at Proctors Theatre

Proctors Theatre has long been witness to scores of legendary performances – and now it’s getting a taste of “Sugar and Spice.” Today, sibling rockers Jocelyn & Chris and their band unveil an intimate semi-acoustic reimagining of their latest radio single “Sugar and Spice,” recorded live from the hallowed Proctors Theatre stage. Watch the live performance premiering exclusively with Proctors Collaborative HERE.

“Sugar and Spice” marks the first single from Jocelyn & Chris’s forthcoming 8th studio album Favorite Ghosts. The track entered the Billboard AAA Top 40 on August 16, earning a “Most Added” designation for three consecutive weeks. American Songwriter calls the song “pure American rock goodness,” and the video for the single is also featured on MTV. In its original form, “Sugar and Spice” is a tour de force of retro-rock energy, showcasing Jocelyn’s commanding vocals and Chris’s infectious electric guitar work. With the release of this live acoustic reimagining, the song’s alternative rock trappings give way to reveal softer nuances, powerful lyrics, and compelling musicianship.

Says Jocelyn, “Chris and I grew up less than an hour away from Proctors - we went there for school field trips in elementary school! Experiencing shows there was always such a huge inspiration for us. To be able to play own original music there… It was just such a rewarding experience. It’s a beautiful, legendary place - and I think you can hear that energy in this recording.”

The past few years have been monumental for the Arndt siblings, who made their national TV debut on NBC’s TODAY Show in addition to featured coverage in Relix, American Songwriter, The Daily Beast, NowThis, Paste, Parade, and countless others. The release of their 2019 album “The Fun in the Fight” debuted at #1 on the Jambands Top 30 and in the Top 20 on the iTunes all-genre chart, landing them tour support dates with X Ambassadors, Jimmy Eat World, Grand Funk Railroad and, most recently, Foreigner, along with festival and event performances nationwide.

Going into 2020, Jocelyn & Chris had big plans – but as it turned out, 2020’s plans were bigger than any of us could have imagined. Instead of giving in, the two chose to step up, streaming online 7 days a week and cultivating a connection with their fans around the globe that’s now deeper than ever. “Sugar and Spice” not only marks the lead single of their upcoming album Favorite Ghosts, but also a decisively confident return to musical life for the siblings.
