New Album – Fools For The Fleeting – Out Now

Tonight (9.18), she’ll celebrate with her official AmericanaFest showcase at The Blue Room

Today (9.18), Katie Pruitt – one of the most emotionally fearless voices in modern Americana and indie-folk – shares her new album, Fools for the Fleeting via Rounder Records.

Produced by Isaiah Beard, Fools for the Fleeting showcases Pruitt's introspective songwriting and signature blend of alternative country and folk-rock. With themes of nature ("Orions Belt"), natural disasters both physical and metaphorical ("Blackout," "The Aftermath"), heartbreak ("Matching Tattoos") and untethering oneself from technology and distraction in favor of human connection ("Little Boxes"), the 10-track album finds Pruitt digging into the impermanence that comes with being human.

Tapping into her innate ability to make something beautiful out of the turmoil she feels around her, the songs feel serene. As she acknowledges the turbulence and unrest, she still leans into the hope that comes with human connection, being a part of something bigger than ourselves, and why we must protect what matters to us.

This week, Pruitt presented the award for Emerging Artist of the Year – the same award she was nominated for in 2020 – at the 2026 Americana Honors & Awards, plus her mural was revealed at Grimey’s. To celebrate the album, she’ll play her official AmericanaFest Showcase tonight at The Blue Room at 10pm.

Next week, she’ll head out on her 33-city Fools for the Fleeting Tour. These will be some of her first live performances of the entire album, and includes stops in NYC, Los Angeles, DC, Chicago, Nashville, San Francisco and more. Get tickets here and see the full dates below.
