Today, Khruangbin release their first-ever remix album Mordechai Remixes reimagining their 2020 album Mordechai on Dead Oceans, in association with Night Time Stories, Ltd. and to be released physically October 29th. Remixers include Kadhja Bonet, Harvey Sutherland, Ginger Root, Knxwledge, Natasha Diggs, Soul Clap, Ron Trent, Quantic, Felix Dickinson and the DJ duo Mang Dynasty.

The remixers for this album are very intentional, they’re not names picked randomly out of a hat or chosen after a throw of the dice. Whether it be personal or new found friendships (Natasha Diggs, Bill Brewster, Soul Clap, Quantic, Felix Dickinson) touring together (Harvey Sutherland, Ginger Root) musical connection (Knxwledge) or simply mutual musical appreciation (Kadhja Bonet, Ron Trent), the selected artists each showcase a world the band proudly stand behind. Some of these virtuosic Houstonites’ reimaginings were specifically made so listeners can dance their ass off, while some might better be appreciated horizontally with headphones on, or wearing fashionably loose clothes.
“A good remix is when the remixer’s sonic fingerprint is present, without sounding forced, '' says the band. “It should feel like its own story, with at least some of the same characters as the original.”
Last weekend Khruangbin returned on what’s set to become their most monumental tour to date with two mesmerizing festival performances at Newport Jazz Festival at Maha Festival. This fall features a 40+ run of dates with Khruangbin playing their largest rooms to date including two sold-out nights headlining iconic Colorado venue Red Rocks, three sold-out nights at LA’s legendary Greek Theatre, two headlining shows at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall in early 2022 and a first-ever headlining performance at London’s Alexandra Palace.
Support for the upcoming tour includes an impressive array of curated artists including Nick Hakim, Kadhja Bonet, Kikagaku Moyo, Robert Ellis, Kelly Doyle, Ruben Moreno, The Suffers, Vleux Farka Toure and Brijean.

About Khruangbin
Khruangbin is a three-piece band from Houston, Texas, formed in 2009 with Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar and Donald Johnson on drums. Taking influence from 1960's Thai funk - their name literally translates to "Engine Fly" in Thai - Khruangbin is steeped in the bass heavy, psychedelic sound of their inspiration, Tarantino soundtracks and surf-rock cool. By the summer of 2019, the trio had been on tour for nearly three-and-a-half years, playing to audiences across North and South America, Europe, and southeast Asia behind its acclaimed albums The Universe Smiles Upon You and Con Todo El Mundo. They returned to their farmhouse studio in Burton, Texas, and recorded and released their third studio album Mordechai via Dead Oceans in association with Night Time Stories in the summer of 2020 earning glowing praise from The New York Times, W Magazine, Billboard, The Los Angeles Times, The FADER and more.
