After taking the past year to celebrate its fifth anniversary as New York City's most distinct and experimental showcase of independent music, Knockdown Center's flagship Outline Festival has announced its first two events of 2026. The dual spring editions will begin with a lineup of Egg Punk on Friday, March 6th, featuring The Spits, Prison Affair, Times New Viking's first NYC set since 2012, Snōōper and The Serfs. Then, on Saturday, March 21st, Outline continues with a freaky night of neo-prog from Geordie Greep, Julianna Barwick & Mary Lattimore, Delroy Edwards' first-ever performance with a live band, and Still House Plants.

Tickets to both of Outline's spring dates are available now:

March 6th | March 21st

Throughout 2025, each quarterly edition of Outline presented a convergence of artists that fans will only ever experience at Knockdown Center. From international pop and R&B pathbreakers (Erika de Casier, Smerz, Clara La San, Fine, urika's bedroom) to the intersection of next gen electronic and hip-hop (Jockstrap, Kenny Mason, Jane Remover, HiTech, dazegxd, Kassie Krut), to post-punk legends and rising stars of the avant-garde (Michael Rother, Thurston Moore, HTRK, Eiko Ishibashi, Explosions In The Sky, múm, Mabe Fratti, They Are Gutting a Body of Water, upsammy, Diles Que No Me Maten), Outline further expanded its commitment to an inspired and ingenious, global and genre-agnostic curation of the moment's most groundbreaking acts.

Having hosted nearly 100 performances to date, Outline will continue to bring out the best in its artists, audience and design in 2026, highlighting both the expressive power of sound and the full expansive potential of the venue's 50,000 square feet. No two Outlines are the same, but there's a common thread: no matter what kind of show it's presenting, each edition delivers cutting edge, uncompromising artists. And each edition uses the venue in a fresh way, situating performers throughout the building and grounds according to the needs of the night or day.

"The ultimate goal is to earn the trust of a big, intensely interested audience who may not know exactly what we're up to but can't wait to see what we'll do next," said Jeff Klingman, Outline's founder and curator, and Knockdown Center's live talent buyer, in an interview with Observer

About Outline

Outline is Knockdown Center's live music festival, highlighting both the expressive power of sound and the full expansive potential of the venue's 50,000 square feet. No two Outlines are the same, but there's a common thread: No matter what kind of show we're presenting, each edition brings cutting edge, uncompromising artists. And each edition uses the venue in a fresh way, situating the performers throughout the building and grounds according to the needs of the night or day. Everyone we put on is doing something singular and unique, each installment is genre-agnostic and ingeniously curated, with the intent to bring out the best in the artists and Knockdown Center's physical design. En route to completing two-dozen editions since beginning in February 2020, past Outline presentations have featured Boy Harsher, ESG, Jessy Lanza, Magdalena Bay, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Jlin, Standing on the Corner, Crumb, Matmos, Michael Rother, Yaeji, The Armed, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions in the Sky, and many more.

About Knockdown Center

Knockdown Center is New York's largest independent music venue. Our flagship projects include WIRE Festival, Outline, RUSH and BASEMENT. This 50,000 square-foot building has seen continuous use for more than 100 years: first as the Gleason-Tiebout glass factory, then as Manhattan Door factory. It is named for the "Knock-Down" door frame that was invented here in 1956 by Samuel Sklar and remains an industry standard to this day. The factory has since remained in the Sklar family and is again a site for innovation. Having undergone a renovation that is equal parts preservationist and state of the art, Knockdown Center now produces and hosts concerts, performances, nightlife and exhibitions that respond to its unique architecture and dimensions.
