Out now on ATO Records, Adrian Quesada's brand new Boleros Psicodélicos LP "promises to be one of 2022's most gorgeous releases" (Rolling Stone). Named one of the most anticipated albums of summer by Pitchfork, the Grammy-winning guitarist, producer and Black Pumas co-founder has "tapped into an emerging mood in Latin music" (The New York Times), uniting a community of collaborators in a sweeping tribute to the golden era of balada. Ever since Adrian Quesada first heard the band Los Pasteles Verdes on an AM radio station in his home city of Austin, TX some 20 years ago, he has been obsessed with balada's signature blend of heartbreak, heavy grooves, smooth bossa nova and art-pop orchestration that emerged in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It took him until the COVID-19 lockdown, however, to immerse himself even further into the genre's opulent, expansive world of romance, drama and emotion. As a master collaborator who has worked with the likes of Prince, Los Lobos and GZA, he assembled a long list of artists to join him in a celebration of its unsung influence.
