Liza Anne Scoffs at Southern Hospitality with Caustic New Single "Small Talks"

New Album 'Fine But Dying' Out March 9th On Arts & Crafts Followed by National Headlining Tour

Today, Liza Anne has shared another track from upcoming album 'Fine But Dying,' an earworm with bite called "Small Talks." On the track, the Nashville-by-way-of-Georgia singer unleashes danceable disdain for the frustrating formalities of Southern hospitality. Her sweetly tart voice cuts through a propulsive beat as she sings with raucous, relatable honesty:

"The older I get the harder it gets
Maybe I'm fine, maybe I'm dying
I'm just tired, tired of trying"

Listen and feel free to share.

"Small Talks" is the third song from 'Fine But Dying' (3/9, Arts & Crafts), which Liza calls "my woman at her wildest self album." She confronts her inner anxieties and history of mental illness as she battles the vertiginous nature of early adulthood in a fearless display of both strength and vulnerability. 'Fine But Dying' was recorded at La Frette studios in Paris (Feist, Nick Cave) and produced by Liza Odachowski and Zachary Dyke.

'Fine But Dying' has earned early praise from Stereogum, who called her second single, "Closest To Me," "gorgeous and subtly devastating" and NPR Music who called Liza's music "bold in both sound and subject." Liza has also made fans of Billboard, Zane Lowe, and Nylon, who dubbed Liza an artist with the "keen ability to turn even the smallest of feelings into a sweeping song."
