Local Natives' 'Sunlit Youth' Streaming Now In Full Via Tumblr: http://found.ee/SunlitYouthPremiere
Local Natives’ upcoming LP ‘Sunlit Youth’ is streaming now in full via Tumblr, four days ahead of its Sept 9th release date. To complete this truly immersive, rabbit-hole listening experience, the LA 5-piece have also shared unreleased artwork, photos, and video footage from the making of ‘Sunlit Youth.’ Listen/watch here, and feel free to post: http://found.ee/SunlitYouthPremiere
In the band’s own words:
We have special memories of racing back from the record store to finally listen to a new album. Digging through the artwork, sometimes even painfully waiting days to listen to a new record in its entirety to make sure the first listen was uninterrupted. We're happy to finally share Sunlit Youth with you, tied with visuals from the album artwork created in collaboration with our art director Brian Roettinger, to give you that first album listening experience.
‘Sunlit Youth’ is the Local Natives’ most ambitious, fully-realized work yet, and earned early praise everywhere from Fader, Pitchfork, NPR, LA Times + more. The songs were recorded on four different continents – with the band decamping to places like Nicaragua and Thailand for long stretches. Earlier this summer they landed late-night performances on Conan and Corden on back-to-back-weeks, and their festival set at Lollapalooza “suggests that they have finally entered into the top tier of festival acts” (Consequence of Sound).
Throughout the summer the band has also been staging guerilla performances across the country, in spots like NYC’s East River Ferry, the top of Chicago’s Willis Tower, and the rooftop of their Sunset Blvd rehearsal space. The latter of which was written up by the LA Times, Billboard etc.
Next they'll launch an expansive US tour, which includes a hometown show at The Greek in LA on 9/16, and Terminal 5 in NYC on 10/25 + 10/26.
