Logan Mize Embraces Road-Warrior Lifestyle On New Single “Out Of State Plates”

Kansas-born country-rocker Logan Mize shares an anthem for the wanderers, road warriors and all those who never get too comfortable staying in one place with “Out of State Plates,” out today (9.15) via Big Yellow Dog Music.

“Out Of State Plates” was written by Mize with Daniel Agee (Jessie James Decker, HBO’s Big Little Lies) and Kyle Sturrock (Chris Young, Ashley Cooke). The heartland troubadour's signature gritty vocals deliver a “traveling man” rally cry while embracing the freedom of life on the road. Driven by reverb-heavy guitar, the new song feels like a summertime windows-down drive with no destination in mind. 

“‘Out Of State Plates’ was a fun one to write,” says Mize. “There's not much to it production-wise, which is rare since Dan Agee and I usually have a big sound in mind. It's just a baritone guitar and a little percussion. It's simple and fun. I'm a sucker for the ditties.”

Earlier this year, Mize released his Sunflower State-inspired ‘Bloodline’ (5.5) and debuted a new duo alongside his wife Jill Martin with ‘The Mizes’ (8.25), which pulls the curtains back on the highs and lows of marriage while infusing hilarity, solemnity and honesty. He’ll release more new music later this year.
