August 28, 2024 - - LP Giobbi has released new single “Until There’s Nothing Left” from her sophomore LP, Dotr (October 18 / Ninja Tune / Counter Records). “Until There’s Nothing Left” is a surging anthem of cascading arpeggios and an explosive chorus, featuring vocals from Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes’ recording of “Don’t Wanna Fight.” Says LP Giobbi: “I first saw Brittany Howard when Alabama Shakes performed more than a decade ago at Oakland’s Fox Theater where I was working. Partnering on the Shakes’ ‘Don’t Wanna Fight’ was a dream for me; the result feels like an epiphany, Brittany's voice rising above spirals of synth like a prayer delivered onto the dancefloor.”

The much anticipated follow up her 2023 debut Light Places — that earned her the title of DJ Mag’s Producer of the Year for 2023 and placed her among NPR’s Favorite New Musicians of 2023 — Dotr is named for the way LP Giobbi signed notes to her parents as a child. Built around a triage of grief, Dotr was written in the wake of the loss of three matriarchal figures in Giobbi’s life: Patricia Lynn, her mother-in-law, Carolyn Horn, her piano teacher since second grade, and Suse Millmann, a longtime friend of her parents and the only professional artist she knew as a child. Built from raw, candid recordings from these friends and mentors, in addition to vocal lines from peers and heroes — including Portugal. The Man, Panama, Danielle Ponder, and more — and warm, rich melodies, Dotr is a joyous project that overcomes sadness through the exaltant revelation of what it means to live.
Previously released tracks from Dotr include “Feel (ft. Jacob Banks),” which was praised by Billboard for “building to a kind of serenely dancing with your eyes closed kind of place,” and “Bittersweet (ft. Portugal. the Man),” which FLOOD deemed “a disco infused cut… that gives a melodic rush” and Grimy Goods named one of the top 5 songs of the summer. The recently released “So Nice To Be In Love” features Mascolo, who is an artist recently signed to her label Yes Yes Yes.
LP Giobbi has graced massive festival stages — Coachella, Tomorrowland, Electric Forest, Lollapalooza, Kappa Futur, Lost Village plus Arc Music Festival, Portola & Life Is Beautiful appearances set for later this year — and crowded club floors while touring with the likes of Mochakk, DJ Tennis, John Summit, Diplo, Dead & Co, Black Coffee, and frequent collaborator Sofi Tukker. In addition to being the Global Music Director for W Hotels and being featured in a major Taco Bell spot, she recently announced her largest headline tour yet this fall, including shows at LA’s Fonda Theatre, Denver's Mission Ballroom, and NYC’s Great Hall, full dates below.
LP Giobbi is also a major voice in the world of inclusion and equity in the electronic world with her 501(c)(3) nonprofit FEMME HOUSE. Since launching in 2019, FEMME HOUSE has provided thousands of female and gender expansive individuals access to production workshops, online courses, and scholarship programs to counteract gender disparities in dance music, where women make up only two percent of producers. The organization has previously joined forces with Alicia Keys’ She Is the Music and Emily Lazar’s We Are Moving the Needle.
