Maggie Rose Named One of CMT's "Next Women of Country" Class of 2016

Joins Margo Price, Caitlyn Smith, Jamie Lynn Spears and more

Maggie Rose -- praised as "what's next in Nashville" by NPR Music -- joins nine other female artists as part of CMT's "Next Women of Country" Class of 2016. Devoted to bringing attention to up-and-coming female artists -- both signed and unsigned -- CMT's "Next Women of Country" series is designed to give a voice to the most powerful women in music, celebrate the wide range of country-music artistry, and empower and bring awareness to some of the most inspiring female vocalists in the format. Hand-selected by CMT, Maggie Rose joins Margo Price, Caitlyn Smith, Jamie Lynn Spears, Jillian Jacqueline, Kree Harrison, Logan Brill, Lucie Silvas, Post Monroe and Runaway June.

"I am truly honored to be listed with some of the industry's most promising artists," says Maggie. "This campaign offers a sense of community that rallies around women who are making impressive contributions to Country music. Having this platform encourages and empowers us to raise our standards for our performances and carves out a place for our music to be heard that wasn't there before."

This summer, Maggie was included in an expansion of the "Next Women of Country" franchise, as one of the first females in the "Next Women of Country LIVE" series, a weekly digital series that highlighted exclusive content on CMT's homepage. Maggie was accompanied by Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, Jana Kramer, Brandy Clark and 15 other female front-runners.

Maggie's dynamic artistry turned heads with the release of 'The Variety Show - Vol.1' (4.8), a collection of daring tracks Maggie created once she decided to not conform to a single genre and create from a place of honesty and fearlessness. She added her innovative pop melodies and bluesy undertones to her roots-country foundation, displaying an evolving style and sound.

Named "one of country's rising storytellers" (Washington Post), Maggie is currently in the studio, working on the country album she's always wanted to make, a project that displays her continuously evolving style, transcends norms and vividly showcases her unique artistry and sonic and lyrical versatility.
