Maggie Rose Releases First of Double EP Set—‘The Variety Show - Vol.1’—on April 8

Maggie Rose Releases First of Double EP Set -- 'The Variety Show - Vol.1' -- on April 8

Rose adds tour dates with Rachel Platten and Randy Houser + Festival Slots with Brad Paisley, Lee Brice, more

After more than a year in the studio working with some of music's biggest names, Maggie Rose -- the genre-defying, Play It Again-hitmaker -- reemerges as one of Nashville's most "astute" (New York Times) producers, artists and songwriters. The first of her forthcoming double EP set -- 'The Variety Show. Vol.1' -- will be released to all streaming platforms and iTunes on April 8. This innovative mix of pop melodies and gospel influence with a strong, roots-country foundation showcases how her continuously evolving style makes her one of the torchbearers of the New Nashville sound, in what The Washington Post hails as "less an act of reinvention than liberation."

With the scene-stealing, avant-pop look and sound of Debbie Harry, Gwen Stefani and Annie Lennox, her DIY, punk-inspired elegance transcends norms both socially and stylistically, resulting in a collection of music which the Vogue "It" girl states she created "without staying within the confines of what is considered 'radio friendly,' [creating] without reservations and without apologies."

With tracks ranging from "effervescent" (The Washington Post) pop-rock songs --"Same Sky" -- to roots-leaning numbers, her unique approach to this record has landed her tour slots with acts ranging from pop-sensation Rachel Platten, to GRAMMY-winning rapper Wale at SXSW, to Country-favorite Randy Houser, to festival slots opening for Brad Paisley, Lee Brice and more.

"I really wanted to drive home the variety-show element of these releases," says Maggie. "For people who know me, this EP will harken back to where I started, but it will also show the range of things I've been involved in and where I'm going."

Building on her multifaceted flair as both an artist and creator, Rose hits the road this Spring, headlining her own tour with The Morrison Brothers -- an act she's currently producing. With stops slated in Atlanta, Washington D.C., Nashville, Philadelphia and New York City, Rose is eager to "reacquaint" her fans with her new project.
