Mandolin Announces Livestream of 5th Annual THUNDERGONG! A Benefit for Amputees in Need

Mandolin, the music industry’s leading digital fan engagement platform and concert livestreamer, will virtually present the 5th Annual THUNDERGONG! A Benefit for Amputees in Need, this Saturday, November 20th, at 7pm CT.

Hosted by Jason Sudeikis, THUNDERGONG! is a raucous evening of rock’n’ roll fueled fundraising meant to evoke the experience of listening to your coolest, most eclectic friend’s mixtape of performances, comedy bits, and more. This year, comedy and musical performances from Will Forte, Fred Armisen, Michael McDonald, Sammy Hagar & The Circle, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Heidi Gardner, Waxahatchee, Counting Crows, Dashboard Confessional, Ben Rector, Kay Cannon, and more, will come together on one stage for the purpose of helping uninsured and underinsured amputees get the prosthetic limbs they need.

THUNDERGONG! is a yearly benefit for the nonprofit Steps of Faith, which is dedicated to providing prosthetic care, hope, and comfort to amputees needing financial support. They help uninsured and underinsured amputees get the prosthetic limbs they need, restoring mobility and restoring possibilities. In the US, there are 2.1 million people living with limb loss - approximately 500 people a day lose a limb in the US - and this number is expected to double by 2050. Since 2017, THUNDERGONG! has raised more than $1M for Steps of Faith.

THUNDERGONG! is the latest nonprofit event to be streamed live by Mandolin. In 2020, Mandolin livestreamed #iVoted, a nearly 600-artist festival in support of voter registration, and in 2021, Mandolin livestreamed the Tibet House US benefit, featuring the likes of Phoebe Bridgers and Eddie Vedder; Back to Amy, a joint benefit for MusiCares and the Amy Winehouse Foundation; and more.

Let me know if you’d be interested in sharing more information on the event, or if you’d like to virtually check it out.
