Today (2.23), roots-rock newcomer Matt Koziol announces his sophomore album ‘Last Of The Old Dogs,’ out 4.5 via RED Creative Group. Across thirteen tracks, the showstopping artist infuses his irresistibly gritty vocals into his blend of country, rock, bluegrass and blues.

Koziol displays his songwriting ability on tracks ranging from tender odes about former family pets (“Last Of The Old Dogs”); earnest reflections on past relationships (“The Fire,” “Uphill Battle”) to scathing outlaw anthems (“You Better Run, Son,” “Follow Me Home”) and more. Throughout the album, Koziol takes stock of how painful life experiences have shaped him for the better, giving a triumphant testimony to personal growth, diligence and perseverance.  

‘Last Of The Old Dogs’ features many talented musicians including Collin Pastore (Boygenius, Julien Baker), Andy Ellison (Jon Pardi, Kameron Marlowe) and Spencer Cullum (Billy Strings, Angel Olsen). The album includes previously released tracks “Which Way To Heaven” (10.20) and a stunning levitation of Shenandoah’s “Ghost In This House” featuring 22x GRAMMY-winner Vince Gill (11.17).
