Matt Koziol Offers Grit And Soul On Bluesy Country Rocker “Which Way To Heaven”

Matt Koziol is “a towering talent” (NPR’s KUTX) who recalls the power grit vocals of contemporaries like Chris Stapleton while channeling a country-infused rock that nods to influences like ZZ Top, Eagles and Allman Brothers Band. Today (10.20), he showcases it all on “Which Way To Heaven,” out now via RED Creative Records.
Written by Koziol alongside country up-and-comer Reyna Roberts, the free-wheeling track is delivered with a devil-may-care attitude as Koziol toes the line of sinner and saint. His one-of-a-kind, chill-inducing vocals shine, sounding like a perfectly aged bourbon and cutting through with a palpable heat.

Growing up in blue-collar New Jersey, Koziol’s music influences spanned from Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty to Jason Isbell, Elvis Presley and more, and each is fused into his tradition-stirring sound. He’s collaborated with artists including Drake White, Joy Oladokun and Charlie Worsham. In the past year, he’s toured with Jon Pardi, Whiskey Myers, 49 Winchester and Hailey Whitters, and he has made appearances at Bonnaroo, AmericanaFest and more.
