(New York, NY): Today, modern alternative R&B phenoms Moonchild release “Money.” The second single off their upcoming LP 'Little Ghost' (out September 6th via Entertainment One ("eOne")) sees the band —made up of Amber Navran, Andris Mattson, and Max Bryk — reflect on the self-doubt inherent in the artistic process and the inner struggle to overcome it.

Over a spacey bass reverb, funky horns, and a chain rattle imbued with Navran’s wind-chime vocals, she sings “I’d put my money on you,” and one can’t help wanting to place their bets on this eclectic L.A. based triad.

Multi-instrumentalist, lyricist, and lead vocalist Amber Navran explains the track in-context with creative block and the myth around it. “There’s a facade that everyone who is releasing music knows exactly what they are doing, did it all by themselves, is a master at every instrument they play on the album and is 100% happy with every piece of music they’ve released—none of that is true," says Navran of the smooth track. "I have so many very talented friends struggling with these feelings. This song is for one of them in particular but applies to all of us."

'Little Ghost' is a balancing act between modern funk ("Wise Women", "Onto Me") and the upper echelons of soul ("Too Much to Ask", "The Other Side"). With the trio in top form, long-time listeners will find something to sink their teeth into while new fans unearth a treasure trove of experimental R&B tailor-made for the modern age. The record was written in a month when Navran, rapt with inspiration, wrote and produced a song every day for the entirety of January.

Moonchild recently announced a headlining U.S. Fall tour. After a year of performing at festivals worldwide and on tours with modern jazz heavyweight Kamasi Washington and alt-R&B luminaries The Internet, the 30+ date run will take them across the country hitting stages in major cities, from Brooklyn Bowl in New York City to the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles.

The trio have released three albums of sensual, beat-driven R&B saturated with electronic flourish and glistening melodies. The group’s last record, Voyager, was included in NPR’s shortlist of "5 R&B Albums You Slept On in 2017" and garnered them comparisons to the likes of Little Dragon and Hiatus Kaiyote. From Jill Scott and DJ Jazzy Jeff to Saint Heron, Robert Glasper and PJ Morton, the eclectic triad cement their prestige and place amongst the genre’s brightest stars of the moment.
