(New York, NY): Morrissey announces an unparalleled special occasion: his first New York club shows in over a decade! The alt-pop titan is set to take the stage at the Hammerstein Ballroom on March 20th and the historic Apollo Theater on March 21st.These two incredible back-to-back, not-to-be-missed shows mark the release of Moz's new album ‘I Am Not A Dog on A Chain’, released on March 20th.

The New York shows come on the heels of the announcement of “Morrissey: Viva Moz Vegas”, the Britpop pioneer’s five night summer residence at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. He will play five nights, June 26 – 27, July 1, July 3 – 4. Morrissey has recently released third single “Knockabout World” from ‘I Am Not A Dog on A Chain’. The song opens with Morrissey’s captivating vocals singing “Congratulations - you have survived, Congratulations - you're still alive!” filling the track with melodrama…it’s a catchy 3 minute song featuring synth riffs, twinkling electronics and jangling guitars which build to an orchestra of lush euphoric strings.

‘I Am Not A Dog on A Chain’ was produced by Grammy award winning producer Joe Chiccarelli (Beck, Tori Amos, The Strokes, The Killers, The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, etc), and recorded at Studio La Fabrique in Saint- Rémy de Provence, France, and Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California, also saw its first single, “Bobby Don’t You Think They Know?”, featuring backing vocals by legendary R+B Icon Thelma Houston and second single “Love Is On Its Way Out” released to great critical and fan response.
