Mott The Hoople '74 Kicks Off First U.S. Tour in 45 Years Today

Rolling Stone, Billboard, & more raving over this special 10-day trek; Final night at NYC’s Beacon Theatre is sold-out

(New York, NY): Today, Mott The Hoople ’74, featuring core ’74 members Ian Hunter, Ariel Bender and Morgan Fisher, kicks off its first U.S. tour in 45 years at Milwaukee’s Miller High Life Theatre. Today, April 1, has also been declared “Mott The Hoople Day” by the city of Milwaukee.

This past Friday at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Ian Hunter closed out the 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony by joining 2019 inductees Def Leppard, Queen guitarist Brian May and others for an “epic performance” (Rolling Stone) of the Mott classic “All The Young Dudes.” Watch here: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/rock-hall-all-the-young-dudes-all-star-jam-815668/

These are just the latest events from a fruitful reunion that has brought back one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most influential and beloved bands. Queen, who made their U.S. debuts opening for Mott on their famous 1974 U.S. tour, The Clash (“If it hadn’t been for Mott, there would be no us,” says Mick Jones), Cheap Trick, Primal Scream and more cite Hunter and co. as major influence.
