“Clever, high-camp, roots-pop drama…” -MOJO

Neyla Pekarek, formerly of the Lumineers, has announced her first solo tour dates in support of her “fearless” (Billboard) debut album ‘Rattlesnake,’ coming out January 18 on S-Curve Records/BMG. She will join fellow-Coloradans Devotchka for a run of 9 of shows beginning January 31st in Kansas City, MO. See below for a full tour routing.

In addition to touring with Devotchka, Neyla will make her Grand Ole Opry debut at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, on Saturday, January 19th, and she will perform at the BMI Showcase at Sundance Film Festival on Tuesday, January 29th, at The Shop in Park City, UT.

“I’m so thrilled to announce I’ll be opening for my Denver pals, Devotchka,” Neyla said of the news. “I am always blown away by their creativity and musicianship, and I’m so honored to get to be a part of this iconic tour!”

‘Rattlesnake’ is an album about one of the strongest independent women and unsung heroes of the old west, Kate Slaughterback, better known as Rattlesnake Kate. The 13 original songs on ‘Rattlesnake,’ produced by Matt Ward (M. Ward, She & Him), were written as a “Folk Opera” shining a light on some of the incredible tales from Kate’s life, including her triumph over a pack of rampaging rattlesnakes, a 40-year love letter correspondence she maintained with a man she never actually met, and more. Mojo called the album a “clever roots pop drama” in a recent four-star review. For more about Rattlesnake Kate and the album, read Neyla’s recent interview with The Washington Post’s The Lily:
