Nick Lowe + Los Straitjackets' "gracefully raucous" rock revue heads West this fallLOWE'S "GRACEFULLY RAUCOUS" (THE RINGER) 'TOKYO BAY / CRYING INSIDE' EP IS OUT NOW ON YEP ROC RECORDS
Nick Lowe will return for additional U.S. tour dates this fall, teaming once again with Yep Roc Records labelmates Los Straitjackets for shows across Texas and the West Coast. The unlikely pairing was met with raves on a short stateside run in June; the Chicago Tribune proclaimed Lowe had “been rejuvenated by his collaboration with the masked marauders in Los Straitjackets” and the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel named their rain-drenched Summerfest performance one of the festival’s best.
This live collaboration follows the June 15 release of Lowe’s Straitjackets-backed ‘Tokyo Bay / Crying Inside’ EP, a collection which inspired NPR Music to declare “The Jesus of Cool rocks again” and Billboard to praise Lowe’s “sophisticated pop craft.” The four-song EP marked Lowe’s first release in five years, featuring the two original title tracks and covers of the Bee Gees-penned Dionne Warwick hit "Heartbreaker" and Cliff Richard's 1959 UK #1 "Travellin' Light."
New live dates include two kick-off shows at Antone’s in Austin with The Jimmie Vaughan Organ Trio supporting, and a night at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre on October 5. See a full list below.
‘Tokyo Bay / Crying Inside’ is available via all digital platforms and as a double vinyl 45 featuring exclusive artwork with each disc. Listen here: https://lnk.to/tokyobay
