Nick Lowe Extends His Quality Rock & Roll Revue Starring Los Straitjackets Into Fall 2019

Nick Lowe has announced a new slate of North American dates on his Quality Rock & Roll Revue Starring Los Straitjackets, which will return in September following the tour’s first-ever extended tour of the United Kingdom this summer. The Quality Rock & Roll Revue highlights the recent collaborations between the “master songwriter who never takes himself too seriously” (Rolling Stone) and America’s beloved masked men of surf-and-spy guitar instrumentals, while also featuring gems and rarities from throughout Lowe’s iconic career and a solo set of Straitjackets standouts.

Last month’s Quality Rock & Roll Revue dates on the East Coast led the Philadelphia Inquirer to declare that “Lowe has no peer and remains in top form,” and the Boston Globe to ask if “anyone has made a more effortless and elegant second-act transformation than Nick Lowe?” 

Before the September shows, Lowe and Los Straitjackets will release their Love Starvation / Trombone EP this Friday May 17 on Yep Roc Records, taking their ongoing collaboration to new heights. Recorded in Woodstock, NY over a short break from touring, the collection features three new Lowe originals “written very specifically with Los Straitjackets in mind,” and a cover of the obscure Phil Spector-produced gem "Raincoat In The River." Love Starvation / Trombone follows up last year’s Tokyo Bay / Crying Inside EP, which resulted in a special performance on CONAN during the show’s final week of music bookings and led NPR Music to declare “The Jesus of Cool rocks again.”

Lowe will also return to the United States for solo shows this week, including a performance at The Ryman Auditorium for Mavis & Friends: Celebrating 80 Years of Mavis Staples. A full list of tour dates is below.
