Out Now: Canadian Songwriter Northcote Examines His Dark Side On New Album Let Me Roar

Northcote’s new album Let Me Roar (available everywhere today) is a sonic patchwork of folk and Americana storytelling about overcoming the lurking shadows.

Recorded in the weeks following a retreat to the British Columbia’s Gabriola Island to deal with his struggles with alcohol and avoidance, Let Me Roar is this Canadian singer-songwriter, husband and mental health advocate’s timeliest collection to date, chock-full of thoughtful examinations on grief, mental health, addiction, intimacy and sacrifice. 

Northcote (aka Matt Goud) portrays his own journey of personal growth and self-acceptance across this album, and has released some stirring and powerful visuals to accompany these profoundly personal yet universal stories:
