NPR's Here & Now Profiles Mt. Joy's Breakneck Success
"Silver Lining" Breaks 10 Million Streams, Currently #3 on Triple A Radio, #25 Alternative Ahead of Massive Summer Tour, AustinMt. Joy's stellar 2018 just keeps going. Their "amiable, soaring" (NPR Music) single "Silver Lining" has cemented itself in the hearts and Spotify playlists of 1.3 million monthly listeners as it's surged to #3 on the Triple A Radio Charts and the Top 25 on Alternative Radio. It's a staggering build for the young band that Rolling Stone calls "your new folk-rock heroes."
Earlier this week, singer/guitarist Matt Quinn opened up on NPR's Here & Now, illustrating how Mt. Joy defied all expectations as they have risen from a ragtag project assembled on Craigslist to festival mainstays who've toured with Neko Case, The Head And The Heart, The Shins and more. Head to WBUR to discover Mt. Joy's unique rise, "streaming their way to success" with political earworms that wrestle with drug addiction, police brutality, a deadhead Jesus, and more.
And hear "Silver Lining" live on CONAN.
After selling out nearly every headlining show on a national tour this spring, Mt. Joy's relentless rise continues. They just soundtracked an onstage marriage proposal at Shaky Knees, and recently confirmed stops at Austin City Limits, Electric Forest, XPoNential Fest, Bumbershoot, Life is Beautiful, BottleRock, and more. The band are also preparing to make their first trip to the UK to play Paper Dress Vintage in London on July 18th, with other dates TBA. Find the full list of still-expanding dates below.
Mt. Joy's debut, self-titled LP is out now on Dualtone, with raves from Rolling Stone, Billboard, NPR Music, HuffPost, MAGNET, and others.
