“Built With Love” Kit Inspired By The All New Lexus Is Pure Luxury Sport Sedan

LOS ANGELES (March 12, 2021) — Lexus and NTWRK, North America’s premiere livestream shopping platform, have partnered with contemporary artists Al-Baseer Holly and Cristina Martinez to create a custom piece of art that’s inspired by travel.

As the all new Lexus IS has gone all-in on creating a pure luxury sport sedan, the couple went all-in collaborating on the artwork which embodies the importance of being bold and creating your own path.

Their custom art is included on a limited run of hand-painted leather weekender bag (each bag is unique due to the hand painted element) that comes with a blanket, leather journal & keychain. You can also purchase a crew neck sweatshirt and canvas tote bag with the artwork featured on it. The "Built With Love" all-in collection launches March 15th at 4 p.m. PT on NTWRK.

Al-Baseer Holly is a Philadelphia native and former recording artist, turned self taught visual artist who currently resides in Los Angeles. ABH has been a creative since childhood and at the age of 18, he had success as a recording artist working with Pharrell Williams and many others. His paintings have been displayed across the nation and include notable partnerships and collaborations. These include being the first African American art director for a Tommy Hilfiger fashion show (NYFW, 2017) and a Courvoisier partnership with Pusha T and Rhuigi Villaseñor (creative director of Rhude). Cristina Martinez is a contemporary artist based in Seattle, Washington. Her career started in fashion school before she explored self-expression through painting. Cristina’s work is rooted in telling the often-overlooked stories of Black and Brown people, encouraging them to water themselves to bloom and grow in this journey called life. Her work can be found on the 79th floor of the World Trade Center in a colorful 52’ mural; has been covered by The New York Times, Interview Magazine, Allure, Vogue and more; and last year, she donated $20,000 to Black Lives Matter from the proceeds raised by her “BLM Keep Blossoming” print created in response to the murder of George Floyd.

ABOUT CRISTINA MARTINEZ

Cristina Martinez is a contemporary artist from Tacoma, Washington, now based in Seattle, Washington. Cristina’s formal foray into the art world was through fashion school. While in school, she was inexplicably drawn to sketching and painting the subjects’ bodies; she would imagine each women’s individual stories and struggles as they navigated their make-believe lives. It was this love of drawing and creating that outweighed the sewing and creation of the actual clothing that ultimately outfitted the drawn bodies. As such, Cristina began to explore alternate forms of self-expression, self- exploration and articulations of self-love through painting; she now produces countless thought-provoking works of art, mostly notably her self-portraits, “flower faces” and abstract pieces.

Cristina’s art is the physical manifestation of her Black and Mexican heritage and is especially informed by the strong Mexican women (her mother, grandmother and great grandmother) in her family. Cristina has always had the urgency to tell the often untold or unheard stories of Black and Brown people, especially women, encouraging them to be okay with the unknown and to water themselves in order to bloom and grow in this exciting journey called life.

Cristina’s artwork can be found at the World Trade Center in a colorful 52” mural; has been covered by The New York Times, Interview Magazine, Allure, Vogue and more; featured as the first artist collaboration with womenswear designer Fe Noel; prominently displayed on custom packaging for one of Vaseline’s newest product lines, in addition to many other projects, pieces and collaborations.
