Today, Numero Group is ecstatic to announce a new partnership with New York City's pivotal Tiger Style Records. Founded by Ari Sass, Matty Wishnow and Mike Treff in 1998, the label's near-complete catalog of 40 albums and a dozen EPs have now been absorbed into Numero's expansive ecosystem, including pinnacle works by The American Analog Set, The Appleseed Cast, The Mercury Program, Tristeza, Her Space Holiday, The Album Leaf, Rye Coalition and Ida. Having operated at the transitional juncture between the mid-1990s' major label signing spree and the first wave of digital music, Tiger Style pioneered a period of indie rock that is long overdue for a resurgence of rediscovery. With this reinvigorating new relationship now forming more than 20 years after Tiger Style's hiatus – back when it was owned by the once-hallowed online music retailer, Insound – much of the label's discography is now available digitally via Numero Group. A bevy of physical LP reissues and box set campaigns are set to kick off in 2025, further extending Numero's essential role as "the cult record label that brings forgotten music back from the dead" (GQ).
"I couldn't be more pleased to be partnering with Numero Group to revitalize the expansive Tiger Style catalog," says Tiger Style co-founder Ari Sass. "Numero Group has an impressive track record of breathing fresh life into important bodies of music. I believe their vision and expertise will ensure that Tiger Style's legacy will continue to thrive while opening up new opportunities for our artists to reach a wider audience and a whole new generation of avid music fans."
"Having witnessed Tiger Style's prolific but short-lived existence first hand, I was in awe of their ability to sign, market, and distribute the best independent artists of their era," adds Ken Shipley, co-founder of Numero Group. "Our recent successes with Duster, Unwound, and The American Analog Set have put us in a unique position to reintroduce Tiger Style's outstanding catalog to the world, and I'm sure Numero's fans are gonna flip when they hear what we've got in store."

Numero Group and Tiger Style's partnership has been steadily building since Ida reunited at 2023's Numero Twenty, performing for the first time since 2010. Celebrating Numero's 20th Anniversary, the unforgettable, two-night festival at LA's Palace Theatre "promised a reconnection with a certain era, but ultimately offered a reconnection to yourself – to your memories, to your musculature, to your community, to your potentiality" (The Washington Post). Earlier this year, Numero Group also released The American Analog Set's New Drifters, a 5xLP box set combining a suite of the band's hypnotic, early-career albums, remastered from the original tapes and garnished with b-sides, outtakes, and demos.
Between surpassing half a billion streams on the Duster catalog, assembling historic releases and reintroducing unsung heroes like The American Analog Set, Helene Smith, Isabella Antena, Joyce Street, Laraaji, Maxx Traxx, Native Nod, 90 Day Men and more, adding to beloved record series like Eccentric Soul and Side Story, and bringing thousands of LPs, 45s, cassettes and CDs to pop-up events around the world, Numero Group has entered its second decade doing its most adventurous work. In addition to producing critically-revered compendiums, streaming hits, TV and film placements, TikTok trends and more, Numero Group has resurrected a boundless array of overlooked styles and scenes, whether it's the output of Tiger Style or the regional music of remote islands, cosmic country, electro-samba, privately issued folk, punk, hardcore and beyond.
