O.A.R. Announces Their ‘O.A.R. Extended Stay’ Tour For 2012

Band Set To Offer Fans An Up Close And Personal Experience With Several Shows in Washington, DC, New York City, and Philadelphia

December 12, 2011 – Platinum selling group O.A.R. will take their critically acclaimed live show to intimate venues in Washington, DC, New York City, and Philadelphia for the special nine-show ‘O.A.R. Extended Stay’ tour in support of their recently released seventh studio album, King. The band will perform shows at DC’s 9:30 Club February 28th and 29th, New York City’s The Bowery Ballroom March 6th through the 10th, and Philadelphia’s Theatre of Living Arts March 15th and 16th. During the ‘O.A.R. Extended Stay’ dates fans can expect to hear music from King, which was released in August on Wind-up Records, as well as fan favorites, deep cuts, and rarely played songs.

Fan pre-sale tickets will go on sale at 12:00pm EST tomorrow, December 13th. General on-sales will begin on Friday, December 16th with the DC shows going on sale at 10am EST and the Philadelphia and New York City shows going on sale at 12 pm EST. “We've had the privilege of touring the U.S. for several years and one thing we always wanted to do was stay put for a few days and enjoy some of our favorite cities,” said lead singer Marc Roberge. “We're playing some of our favorite venues and for the first time performing at the Bowery Ballroom, which has always been on our wish list. We’re excited to dig in and play through the catalogue.”

Each venue on the ‘O.A.R Extended Stay’ tour was hand picked by the band members of O.A.R. as they hold special significance. The Bowery Ballroom shows mark the band’s first official headlining dates in New York City since their three previous sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden and their first time performing up close and personal with fans at the intimate venue. The 9:30 Club in Washington, DC is where the band recorded their first live album, the Gold certified Any Time Now, and the last time the band performed at the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia was in 2001. These special ‘O.A.R Extended Stay’ dates are in addition to the band’s recently announced sixteen date winter tour kicking off January 25th and making stops in major cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, and Minneapolis.
