O.A.R. Headlines Superstorm Sandy Benefit Concert, 8.3

O.A.R. will headline "The Concert to Save the Jersey Shore" at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ on Saturday, Aug. 3rd. Net proceeds from the show will go to support the Foundation to Save the Jersey Shore, a grassroots organization known for cutting through red tape and helping victims of Superstorm Sandy in the Garden State.

In the wake of the storm, the Foundation to Save the Jersey Shore has stepped in where traditional sources of aid have been exhausted, coordinating money, materials and manpower and getting it directly to the people and communities that need it most. For O.A.R., the cause is personal. "Our band grew up enjoying beaches up and down the Eastern seaboard, including the Jersey Shore," says bassist Benj Gershman. “So when Sandy hit, we all felt it. The Concert to Save the Jersey Shore is our way of contributing to the process of rebuilding.”

O.A.R., the "grassroots phenomenon" that transformed into one of rock's preeminent live acts, is currently at work on the follow up to their widely praised 2011 release, 'King' - a "sunburned dub stew of reggae, surf, and jazz-rock rhythms" (EW) by "a self-assured band at the height of its creative powers" (M Magazine).
