Ojai Playhouse Announces Holiday Season Film Programming
From Holiday Classics to New Cinema: Home Alone, Elf, Marty Supreme, Stranger Things and moreOjai, California (December 22, 2025) – This holiday season, the 111-year-old Ojai Playhouse continues to celebrate its first anniversary since reopening in November 2024 with a curated year-end lineup spanning classic favorites, family-friendly screenings, and buzzy contemporary cinema. Nestled in scenic Ojai beneath the Topatopa Mountains, the newly restored single-screen theater has spent the past year establishing itself as a vibrant community hub, screening over 500 films ranging from first-run releases and indie arthouse titles to repertory classics and family favorites, while continuing its signature approach to programming: welcoming, eclectic, and rooted in a love of cinema across generations and genres.
The late December lineup showcases a wide range of seasonal staples and cult favorites, including White Christmas, It’s a Wonderful Life, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Elf, Home Alone, Die Hard, Batman Returns, and Gremlins, embracing the many ways audiences like to experience the holidays. Beyond nostalgia, the Playhouse continues its commitment to contemporary storytelling, with screenings of new films including Marty Supreme, Hamnet, Sentimental Value, Jay Kelly, Come See Me in the Good Light, and Zootopia 2.Closing out the year, fans can gather for communal viewings of Stranger Things 5: The Finale on New Year’s Eve.
