Old Sea Brigade has shared Motivational Speaking, a new twelve-song collection which candidly processes the emotions that have felt especially omnipresent in the past year -  isolation, loss, anxiety, confusion - and through it all, finds the strength to rise above and seek a brighter path forward. All this while shattering perceptions about what an Old Sea Brigade release can sound like, bringing radiant synths, jangly guitars and raucous choruses to a sonic landscape already lauded for its distinctive melodies and captivating storytelling. Joined by renowned musicians from throughout his Nashville music community, Old Sea Brigade's Ben Cramer has delivered an album met with critical praise at every turn:

"With echoes of 80s synthpop and jangly guitars, it's a melodic and memorable one."

- WNYC

"Old Sea Brigade is making some of the best quarantine art."

- Consequence of Sound

"Sharply written and infectiously propulsive...bristles with the potency of relatable emotion and unshackled inspiration."

- Uncut

"The music excels with a subtle elegance...well outside the borders of the ubiquitous acoustic singer-songwriter classification."

- American Songwriter

"Here are your favorite musicians, 2021..."

- SPIN

"Old Sea Brigade does a deep dive into his Nashville ties."

- The East Nashvillian

"Stirring...an ambient and evocative record perfect for 2021."

- Atwood

Old Sea Brigade has also begun to share full-band live sessions from the record, reminding audiences of the exhilarating in-person performances that led artists like Julien Baker, Aaron Lee Tasjan and John Paul White to take OSB out on the road pre-quarantine. These recent session have included his "The Motivation Hour" virtual album release party on Friday, which is still available to stream on Seated, as well as today's appearance on WNYC Soundcheck with John Schaefer that includes a three-song performance and in-depth interview: https://www.newsounds.org/story/tender-heartfelt-indie-folk-old-sea-brigade
