"One Of Los Angeles' Dance Music Tastemakers" Launches Biggest Tour To Date This October
LA producer, DJ, songwriter and "one of Los Angeles' dance music tastemakers" (Billboard) Goldroom will embark on his 16-date "Waiting to Ignite" tour this October with Gavin Turek. On his largest live tour to date, including an immediate sell-out at NYC's Bowery Ballroom (prompting a second show at the Knitting Factory) and including first time stops in Detroit, Columbus, Cleveland and more, Goldroom (aka Josh Legg) will take the stage with a four-piece band incorporating live percussion, synthesizers, guitars, and bass, as well as vocalist Nikki Segal.
"I can't wait to expand our set so we can stretch our legs," said Goldroom. "I've been working on so much new material, and I can't wait to show everyone what's coming up for Goldroom. I have some songs that I've been dying to play live that we'll finally be able to!"
Drawing unexpected songwriting inspiration from artists like Tom Petty and Ryan Adams, Goldroom creates his modern yet nostalgic-feeling sound by focusing on actual song structure as much as on crisp danceable beats.
To celebrate the "Waiting to Ignite" tour, Goldroom has released a brand new Le Youth remix of his "sparkling synth jam" (Idolator) "Embrace" featuring singer George Maple: https://soundcloud.com/goldroom/goldroom-embrace-ft-george-maple-le-youth-remix-1
Watch this live performance of "Embrace" on Last Call With Carson Daly here.
Goldroom's four-song 'It's Like You Never Went Away' EP (Downtown Records) was released this past spring, and is "a dreamy mix of ethereal vocals and escapist melodies" (Nylon). Goldroom became the first artist to debut an EP on Snapchat, releasing a music video for each song over the span of a week on the social media app. iTunes link: http://smarturl.it/GoldroomEP
When played back-to-back, the four music videos create a John Hughes-esque mini-film that captures the essence of a summer in LA. You can watch here:
