JANUARY 5, 2022 - NEW YORK, NY - Corite, the fan-powered music platform that brings fans and artists closer together than ever before, has announced that it will be releasing the latest single from 14 year-old Swedish rock sensation, Oscar Stembridge. The song will be available everywhere on January 7th.

Stembridge wrote “Don’t Lie To Me” in support of the Climate Live event in Sweden this past year, where he debuted the song in front of a live televised audience. Influential climate activists such as Greta Thunberg were in attendance and also participated in the event. Stembridge’s song addresses the political side of climate change, boldly challenging those in power by telling them “Don’t Lie To Me” as they deny the harsh realities of climate change and its impact on humanity.

"’Don't Lie To Me’ is a message from my generation to big business and governments who continue to sugarcoat and lie about the facts in front of us,” said Oscar Stembridge“Three years ago I stood on a stage in front of 60,000 people singing my song ‘We March’ calling for a change in policies to address the climate issues we face. ‘Don’t Lie To Me’ is about how we feel today - more anger, more realism and represents what my generation feels about those in charge.”

Stembridge has previously performed in front of the Swedish royal family and he holds the distinction of being the youngest artist to ever be signed to Universal Music Sweden. Shortly after his performance at Climate Live, he received a personal invitation from Greta Thunberg to participate in, and perform at, the Fridays For Future march, which Thunberg personally organized.

Corite has been leading a fan-powered campaign for the song’s release on streaming platforms in which supporters can contribute initial funding to later receive a portion of the future royalties from the song. 50% of the streaming proceeds from the song will directly support Climate Live and their work to raise awareness of climate issues while organizing events that aim to hold world leaders accountable.

ABOUT OSCAR STEMBRIDGE

Oscar Stembridge is the most exciting talent to emerge from Sweden in many years. He is not only the youngest artist ever to sign with Universal Music Sweden, Oscar is also a multi-talented musician, capable of playing piano, drums, ukulele, and his trademark guitar.

Now 14, Oscar has already built a global following online and performed at many prestigious events including Climate Live in front of 60,000 people, and for the Swedish Royal Family in front of millions of TV viewers. He starred in the lead role of the Swedish hit TV show, “KAR” and recently filmed a new TV series that will air this year.

An accomplished singer-songwriter, Oscar’s compelling persona is matched only by his ability to pen authentic songs that tackle today’s youth issues such as climate change, bullying and social alienation. With millions of streams already and a new EP on the horizon, Oscar’s fanbase is certain to grow exponentially.

The world is his stage and Oscar Stembridge has only just begun!
