Pittsburgh's The Commonheart Partner with Local Charities Ahead of Hometown Nov. 9th Show

Pittsburgh’s own “hyper-passionate blues-rock” (NPR) powerhouse The Commonheart returns to the Steel City on November 9th for a show at Stage AE amidst their extensive US tour behind their latest full-length release ‘Pressure’ (Jullian Records), which has won over NPR Music, Relix, American Songwriter and more. Ahead of the hometown celebration, they’ve partnered with Salvation Army, The Michael J. Fox Foundation and Spare Change in an effort to spread positive mentorship and support key causes in the community.

“We are thrilled to kick off the holiday season generating love with Spare Change, Salvation Army and The Michael J. Fox Foundation, three courageous organizations that create awareness, keep us warm, and continue to work towards a cure for disease,” says the band’s frontman, Clinton Clegg. “When we first discussed a charitable aspect to our hometown show we thought, the more the merrier, let’s focus on uniting causes and spreading as much awareness as possible.”

The band’s partnership with Salvation Army entails a coat drive at Stage AE on November 9th beginning at 5 PM. New and gently worn coats will be accepted in the outdoor plaza near the stage AE box office throughout the evening. In addition, The Commonheart will be collecting donations on the road to fight Parkinson’s disease alongside The Michael J. Fox Foundation and Spare Change. They’ll also have custom shirts for sale at Pittsburgh show, with 100% of proceeds benefiting The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Donations can also be made here: https://www.spotfund.com/story/0fcd1b1b-f1c2-4ef2-ab86-252bab002f89

The band’s dedication to the three local charities is just the latest positively aligned act from the golden rule-following energetic group. They’ve also been volunteering and spreading the word about Pittsburgh’s Light of Life, which provides meals and sobriety counseling for the homeless, over the last few years.
