Today, PJ Morton celebrates his 14th career GRAMMY Nomination as the sweeping and self-produced Gospel According to PJ earns a 2021 nod for Best Gospel Album. Following Morton's 2020 win for Best R&B Song and 2019 win for Best Traditional R&B Performance, and three Best R&B Album nominations in a row, this unprecedented achievement marks the fourth consecutive year of GRAMMY nominations for the New Orleans singer, songwriter, performer and producer.

As his first-ever full-length gospel project, Gospel According to PJ is Morton's culmination of decades worth of songwriting, a childhood raised in the church, and a month of remote recording sessions that he conducted during lockdown this spring and summer. Featuring personal idols and luminaries like Yolanda Adams, Kim Burrell, The Clark Sisters, Commissioned, Kirk Franklin, Le'Andria Johnson, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Mary Mary, his father Bishop Paul S. Morton and many more, the LP was released digitally via Morton Inspiration, the new gospel imprint of PJ's own Morton Records, and debuted #1 on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart.
Gospel According to PJ was previously up for BET and Dove Awards, and this weekend PJ Morton celebrates three nominations at the 2020 Soul Train Awards, including Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, Best Gospel/Inspirational Award and the Soul Train Certified Award.
Gospel According to PJ is Morton's sixth self-released, self-produced album since 2017's Gumbo, and throughout 2020 he has performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Kelly Clarkson Show, COLORS, The Virtual March on Washington and more.
